Table Football Squads

TFS - The alternative game for the alternative football game

What is Table Football Squads?

TFS is a revolutionary new game to table football. Similar to fantasy sports games, it offers a different dimension in the analysis of table football events.

All entrants must pick a squad of four real-life table football players, keeping to a fictional salary budget. Points are then awarded, based on the performances of those players in the OPEN CATEGORY of all FISTF worldwide tournaments, except satellite events.

How long is a TFS game season?

The full season runs in line with the FISTF season - from 1st September to the following 31st August. However, in addition to the overall TFS champion, a winner will also be declared for each 4-monthly period (September to December, January to April and May to August).

How are points awarded?

Generally players reaching the quarter-finals onwards, or being part of a side reaching the final of a team event, will receive points for their achievements, as shown below. At more prestigious events, points are also on offer for those eliminated at an earlier stage. All points earned by a player can count towards their total.

The entrants whose squad has collected the most points by the end of the season will be declared the winner. In the event of a tie for first, second or third place, priority will be given to the squad whose players have collected the most points from the World Cup, then (if still tied) from the Masters/Europa Cup, then (if still tied) from Majors, then (if still tied) from Grand Prix events.

How are players' salaries set?

Salaries are established with reference to the FISTF rankings as at the start of the season. Salaries reflect how many points that a player is likely to gain, and not wholly playing ability.

The salary formula is the number of FISTF points held at 31 August times by 4, plus 1,000 euros (rounded down to the nearest 100 euros), subject to a maximum of 15,000 euros per player and a minimum of 1,000 euros.

A full list of salaries exceeding the 1,000 euro minimum is shown below. Players not listed will have a salary value of 1,000 euros. The list can also be downloaded in Excel format here.

THE BUDGET AT ANY ONE TIME IS A TOTAL OF 25,000 EUROS FOR A FOUR PLAYER SQUAD

TFS TIP: former under-19 players progressing into the Open category by age are likely to offer good value!

Can squads be altered?

Yes, transferring of players is allowed, as long as the value of the squad is kept within the 25,000 euro budget. 6 transfers are allowed over the full season (or the equivalent of half a transfer per month that a squad is within the game, i.e. an entry made with 7 months of the season remaining will be entitled to 4 transfers (rounding up)). Transfers become active from the start of the following calendar month. An e-mail will be sent confirming the squad changes.

Transfer requests should be sent to flicker1995@yahoo.co.uk, with a note of the new player(s) and the player(s) they are replacing.

When is the entry deadline?

Entrants can join the game at any time, but they will only receive points from the start of the following calendar month. However, as the first FISTF event for 2005/06 is in Mislata, Spain over the weekend of 1/2 October, any entries received prior to Friday 30th September 2005 will be considered to have been made from the start of the season.

What can entrants win?

No prizes are on offer for the initial season, but it gives people the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of table football, whilst participating in a fun and competitive game.

Updated TFS standings will be displayed at www.eFlicker.tk on a regular basis.

Any further questions or queries should be sent to flicker1995@yahoo.co.uk
